Thanks for sharing your favourite summer songs, you’ve got a really interesting and eclectic mix of music here! Iko iko is a song I haven’t heard for a long time, was really fun to hear that again.
My favourite song was the Zorba the Greek Dance. I really love traditional folk music, it is a good way to observe cultures and groups. I think I read some where that you’re Egyptian. Do you listen to Egyptian music?
Hi Benjamin, You're right I'm Egyptian but dad's great great grandfather was married from a Greek Lady and dad's Great grandfather was also married from Greek. I do listen to Arabic songs sometimes, usually in the car (mum keeps up to date with latest Egyptian song). Thanks
Hi Benjamine, my parents always tell us about our family tree so we know where we came from and learn more about our Egyptian Culture as we grow older.

ReplyDeleteBenjamin here, I hope you’ve been well!

ReplyDeleteThat's really cool that you know your whakapapa so well. I'm still coming to terms with mine, I don't much past my grandparents.
Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Regards,
Benjamin
