Lockdown

Lately it’s been crazy, life was quite normal and suddenly in a few days it turned 180 degrees after we were free for 102 days from any new cases of Covid19, Auckland is back to lockdown again.

Due to the fast spread of the virus the Prime Minister decided to go for a lockdown. That means no school, no going to grandmas place, not even the playground.

Basically you have to stay home to avoid catching the virus. If you have to go out you need to wear a medical face mask and keep 2 meters away from any person to be safe from catching the virus.

Staying home is not too much fun when you can’t go to school or visit the playground. You can’t visit family or friends and no one can visit you either.

Now when you look back at your everyday life it makes you appreciate the simple things we took for granted. It is amazing what we once took for granted! I didn't realise how much I needed to be around people until this lockdown!

It made me appreciate going to school everyday and seeing my friends, having fun together in the lunch break or even practicing for class assembly. All these simple things that we all took for granted are now forbidden for everyone’s safety.

We all have to stay home otherwise things might get out of hand If the virus spreads in our community faster than anyone can handle.

Sometimes you feel angry, scared or worried not knowing what will happen next but then you tell yourself We’re going to get through this as we did before.

Lockdown

                           The Lockdown

I don’t like lock down, it makes me feel like I’m stuck at home, staying home is not too much fun when you can’t go to the playground or visit your grandma. It feels like you're a prisoner in your own home.
You can’t visit family or friends and no one can visit you.

I haven’t done anything interesting so far, I have tried playing catch the ball in the backyard yesterday with my sister and we also collected some Feij oa from our tree and that was it.

The people in the news say we have to stay home for the next FOUR WEEKS but I think maybe by Easter it’ll be over so we can go for Egg Hunt.

The best and worst bits about being on lock down

I think the good part about lock down is trying not to spread the virus and be safe at home

The worst part is that even the supermarket visits we used to complain about is now not permitted for us kids. Having a takeaway meal in the park is no longer allowed even going to the mall is not happening for the next 4 weeks.
