The BFG (Big Friendly Giant)

On Saturday we had a night girls only, it was me, my sister and mum. We had my favourite salty extra buttery popcorn and Pepsi while watching the movie BFG (The Big Friendly Giant).

The Big Friendly Giant, is a tall skinny giant, he has grey hair, big pointy nose, big ears, wrinkles on his face, bushy eyebrows and long neck.

The Big Friendly Giant spends his time collecting dreams and storing them in his home before giving the good ones to children around the world.

The Big Friendly Giant has extraordinary hearing, and is also a very fast runner. He is intelligent, as well as exceedingly kind-hearted. His mood is changeable, like the moods of a kid, and his sense of fun is definitely childish.

My favourite part was when he went to meet the queen and she offered him lots of food and when he finished eating the servants offered him tea. He took a big sip, didn’t like the tastes of it so he spat it, showering all the servants waiting for the queen’s orders by his huge table.😆😄

Going to Te Ora

On Monday the middle syndicate walked from school to Te Ora in Glen innes. In Te Ora we learnt many things about Matariki (Maori new year). When we reached our destination we had to wait for a while to get inside the auditorium.

When we finally got inside the auditorium we were split into three groups. The three groups were year 4, year 5 and year 6, each group did a different activity.

Year 4 learnt that there are 7 or 9 sisters. There were three activities, the first was doing clay, we made clay art and made a wishing star out of flax .

The second was painting rocks with different shades of blue, Year 5 Students were painting rocks. Year 6 Students were flax weaving.

Finally the third activity which was weaving stars of the seven or 9 sisters. That last activity wasn’t an easy task as we all had to do it, you didn’t have a choice to do it or not.

My Me Tree

My Me Tree
By Joanna Iskander

My family is important to me because they care about me and because they're so kind and they love me.

My cousin is important to me because of that she is really kind and she gives money to poor and homeless people and she gives them bags filled with stuff inside like clothes, food and shoes.

My grandma is important to me because of that she is my only grandparent left and i really love her.

My birthday is important to me because i get cake. I have fun and good memories and my family celebrates my birthday and I get to go to my grandma's house on my birthday and on my birthday I get good wishes.

Epic fail of slime and a bit of good times too

Epic fail of slime and a bit of good times too
Today room 9 made slime. First off all I put in the PVA glue. Secondly I added food coloring. My color was red because the only colors were red yellow and blue. Then I added a bit of borax and then I kneaded it so then it wasn’t sticky and watery. Something bad at lunch time happened. I dropped nearly all of my slime on the ground so I put it in the bin and now I have just a tiny bit of slime.and that was THE WORST DAY EVER!

Me tree art

                        Me tree art
Before lockdown I did my tree art so I didn’t get to finish it. After lock down my teacher Mrs Faalili said that we can carry on doing our me tree art. First of all we paint the tree.
Secondly we put glue then red or grey or green glitter. Then we do our images on our chrome book then we give it to Mrs Faalili so she can print it.After that bring it to the office to laminate it.Then we cut the pictures out and glue it or we could hang it on the tree with the string and the clicker. This is a picture of my finished Me Tree.

Pani popo

Today room 9 made Panipopo. At first we had
to roll it with the coconut cream can then
we rolled it like a long circle. We used a
knife to cut but we only had to do two fingers
on it so it was the right size. After we put
it in the foil plate we added the coconut
cream juice. For this juice we mixed sugar,
water together with the coconut cream. Then
we put it in the oven for 20 minutes and 185
celsius degrees. We had a problem. The oven in
the hall didn't work. So, we used the staffs
oven After that we all ate it and it was so
delicious.
