What a great description you have given about summer in New Zealand and I really love the picture you used in your blog post. Is that your family in their kayaks? We are so lucky to have this great weather over our summer break. I have never been in a kayak at sea, but my Aunty always takes us out on the kayaks on the Okarito lagoon. It’s a bit of a family holiday tradition to go for a kayak on the lagoon and this year I went in the single, but my sister and cousin went in the double. I love the feeling of being on top of the water and looking at all the scenery around us. One of the amazing things we get to see on the lagoon is the white heron or koutuku. There is a sanctuary in Okarito, so we usually see at least a couple in our travels.
Kia ora Joanna
