Maui me te Rā
Maui is sad, confused and annoyed because the day was going fast . He then found out that it was the sun so he decided to catch the sun before it rises and teach it to travel slowly across the sky!" The next day Māui and his whānau collected a huge amount of flax. Māui then taught them how to make flax ropes, they made square shaped ropes, tuamaka, flat ropes, paharahara, and twisted the flax to make round ropes. When the ropes were completed and ready for use Māui and his brothers travelled towards the east to where the sun first rises. They waited for the sun to come out of its hole, once the sun came out they threw the ropes on it. Maui told the sun "From now on you will travel slowly across the sky, never again will the length of our day be dictated by you”. He had succeeded in taming the sun. From that day until this, Tamanuiterā has always travelled slowly across the sky.

Paper Xylophone
I'm going to show you how to make a Paper Xylophone by using any type of paper tube like foil tubes, cling wrap tubes, toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes.
Step 1: Tools & Supplies
Cardboard tubes (paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, wrapping paper rolls) / Rubber bands / Yarn, ribbon, or embroidery floss
Step 1: Cut your tubes so that you have 5 different lengths
Step 2: Start with your two smallest tubes and use a rubber band to fasten them together.
Step 3: Put the rubber band around one tube, twist it (so it makes a figure 8) and put the other loop around the next tube. Hold them in place and put another rubber band around the two tubes the same way.
Step 4: Then, add the next biggest tube using the same method with the rubber bands. Keep going until you’ve added all of your tubes.
Step 5: Next, use your yarn, ribbon, or embroidery floss to weave in and out of your xylophone tubes for decoration.

The Lost bear
Once upon a time there was a teddy bear named Fred and his owner was named Jack. Fred was a nice fluffy teddy bear, he was also Jack’s favourite toy.
Jack Loved Fred so much, one day they went on a road trip. When they reached to the motel Jack lost Fred and he was looking everywhere for him but he couldn't find him.
He was so sad because when Jack opened the window he didn't notice that Fred fell out the window. Jack was a bit asleep and he dropped Fred without noticing at that time.
The next day he went back with his dad, the dad parked near the forest where they were passing by the previous day. Jack found Fred so they went back home. Jack and Fred were so happy.

Chocolate Weetbix Slice
Today Room 9 made Chocolate Weetbix Slice, it was really fun making it. We were divided into teams, the number of people that could be in a team is 4 or 5. My team had only 4 people including me. We took turns mixing the ingredients. Each team had a tin and when it was baked each team had their our own slice. When it was in the oven I could smell it, it was very tasty and delicious that I couldn't wait to taste it. I just wanted to eat it straight out of the oven as it smelt quite chocolatey. We added chocolate chips to the weetbix slice which made it more yummy. That was the best day ever.😀
