Slides And Ladders

Today the year 4's were making a board game and nearly everyone chose snakes and ladders so here is how you play it.First get someone to play with you then grab a die and 2 counters each of you take turns to roll the die and what ever number its on then you move that many space's and carry on until someone goes to a hundred and their the winner.

But i called my one slides and ladders.

My favourite pair of shoes are purple and there comfortable  I wear it to school and I wear it when i'm going places.And their special to me because I like them and it never brakes because i'm careful when i'm wearing it. It also has shoe laces which doesn't untie when I am wearing it for a long time.

                           

 

3D Shapes In Maths

 Today for maths we made 3D shapes out of cardboard  paper and the shapes were printed on the cardboard paper we had to choose 2 3 or 4 but it depends in what maths group we are in.We used scissors and glue to help us make and create.After that we had to count the edges faces and vertices.I chose the square based pyramid and the Net of a pentagon based pyramid.

today room 9 did 3D shapes. And it was about counting the edges the faces and the vertices and we had to

take pictures of the 3D shapes from the schools environment and this was our maths for today.

How Animal's Protect Themselves

 1.Where do some animals hide to protect themselves? in tree hollows under rocks and logs and in burrows in the ground.

2. Why does an echidna roll itself into a ball? To protect itself from predators with its spiky shell.

3. Why would the Tree Pangolin be difficult to unroll when it was in a tight, hard ball?

Because it has overlapping scales.

4. Why do flatfish lie on seabeds?because they are protecting their self and its harder to see.

5. What was the purpose of the scientists’ experiments with flatfish? To put it on the checker board and to see if it would be the pattern of the checkerboard.

6 .How does the Arctic Fox change the colour of its fur in winter? it's because the snow falls and it makes their fur pure wihte.

7. What creature would prey on the Owl Butterfly? A larger animal like grasshoppers.

8. Why does the Tawny Frogmouth bird freeze, rather than just sit on a branch, when it is threatened?so it protects itself from getting eaten by its predator and makes the predator think it a broken branch.

9. Why does the end part of a skink’s tail continue to wriggle violently after it has broken off? To distract the predator from killing the skink

10. How do grazing animals protect themselves when they spot a predator?they warn others and then they get in a big group.
